Good bye 2008....2009 awaits

Well when I look back to the year behind me a few things come to mind:
-the new year I spent with mum from 2007 into 2008. A memory that will stay forever sitting in our pjs watching the fireworks from the balcony in Highcape and watching the music on tv. We had such a special time more so that mum had just been diagnosed.
-Going to the Westcliff hotel to problem solve and implement procedures-a planned 3 month stint turned into 4 months and for me was a great achievement personally as this pushed my abilities and I gymed like you will not believe-was fantastic having a gym at my residence :). I met some interesting people at the hotel, got to spend time with friends I do not get to spend time with as well as of course got to work on my relationship with my sis and her family. I spent my bday there at "Soi" with friends and family.
-My long awaited overseas trip and it was to Bali. Had the time of my life and I got to spend it with Adhil as well. This was God sent I tell you.
-I went back to JHB for Zaras' 1st birthday and spent some good time with mum while there.
-We all gathered for mums birthday in Cape town in Cape Town and had a memorable afternoon at Olivello.
-Durban was a gathering point for Aroons 40th bash-what a time we had re-kindling relationships with lost friendships with relatives.
-Getting to hash some time off to spend with everyone during the Xmas period which is rare for me-a very stressful period at work with a newish team that really sapped me but of course I conquered.

All in all a positive year with many achievements personally and of course this was just an indication of more to come.

2009 I wish to spend more time with my family that I miss very much and I wish to achieve more.

Loving the Sunday morning beat

Wow just having a moment listening to some cool beats on the radio and a bird chirping out there in the stillness of Sunday morning. I cant believe the year is drawing to an end and I have been feeling for change. Have been investigating this avenue however I know I will be guided in the right direction with mum in mind.
It has been a goos 2ns stretch to the year as well. Aroons birthday was a great hit recently. Lots of fun and good memories. What a time we had. Aroon holds a very very special place in all of our hearts. "My brother.....my hero"(You might think and what about my other brother?) Well of course he is my superhero ;)

Life is beautiful

Well its been a good journey this year. I went to Bali after my stint at the Westcliff hotel and it was one of the best times of my life. I felt so relaxed in my own skin and loved the fact that it was summer wear everyday and that included when going out at night. I met some interesting people as you do when you travel abroad.
I forgot how exciting international travel is and the entire trip was enjoyable and I cherished every moment. More so it was amazing that Dills and I were meant to go on this trip at the same time in our lives. I would not trade anything for the fun time we had together and we did well when he met up with me after the wedding he was there for. We did our own thing as well as spent good time together. I am so thrilled that I got to at last taste the Far East for a bit and of course no doubt I will go back to explore more. Yes I still have my major plane phobia and going on a long trip was a little stressful however pat on my back I did so so well and it helped having Adhil on the same flight back which was booked seperately funny enough. Coming back was of course good as well-how can you not look forward to coming back to CPT however I longed for Bali for weeks after. Since then I have been keeping myself busy and trying to discipline myself with my gym and eating routine-the holiday really messed up that but this aint a complaint!! Work wise I feel I have been stagnating a bit now and have many thoughts going through my head! I need to start learning new things now. Watch this space! Mum and I had a most memorable week in CPT and every single day I cherished. Mum is doing so well and was here over Dads death anniv. We got to go together to the beach and place flowers in the water in memory of Dad. The day before I had a bit of breakdown thinking how am I going to deal with this. I felt so so emotional and kept thinking what if this was the last time we get to do this with mum on Dads day and what if this was her last bday. I am always a positive thinker however this kept flooding my mind. I was totally anxious about Dads day and mum was so strong on the day and so was I. Mum is getting her results on Monday from her P.E.T scan and then we will assess the next plan of action with the family support. It has been really trying at times for me however I get through it. I also am struggling with the lack of commitment from Mums side as it seems that she is still having 1 cig a day! All in all having a good time right now at the same time with all this family time. Today is Yasmins' bday celebration and I get to spend it with the Stephens and Schrueders and most exciting of all I get to spend time with Aunt and Uncil. Dills is back-thank goodness as it would have been difficult being alone after having mum here for a week and being surrounded my family over the previous weekend. What!!!!!!I last blogged in July!!!

This is not on. So much to write and no pc at the mo. Been having a good second half of the year and love spending time with my family. Exciting events on the horizon-mums bday in CPT and Aroons 40th in CPT. I miss everyone so much.

On leave-yahoo

Well I am officially on leave and guess what......it did not take me long to get into leave mode. How can you not when you start off in Durban with you start off in durbs with sun and sea? Sitting at the beach cafe was awesome spending time with the Patels. Its been great for a change not rushing from seeing one person to the next.
Had the chance to go with to drop off Aziz and Adam at school this morning. Was really special. Will update with lots more soon.

So good to be back

Well its been just over a week and I am loving being back in the swing of things and being with my Mount Nelson peeps. There are some new peeps in the sales team so interesting rtn. Back to book club next week so I better get reading this weekend.
The week nights have been so busy.Now its the count down to Bali-yahoo and more exciting as Dills and I are now going to be staying together at Contiki Bali.Awesome. I first go to Durbs to see mum and the family-hopefully mum will be doing well.

A chapter closes

Today my chapter at the Westcliff hotel closed. It has been a truely amazing experience and wow the staff have made me feel so so special. We had a dinner to bid me farewell at a chinese restaurant in Melville last night which was great fun. We sat on the floor on cushions and ate off a low table. The waitrons were entertaining and the crowd as well. Today I was given a suprise farewell along with Marthinus (security manager) which was so touching. Mr Holden made a speech and handed me a little token. It was really amazing. A long long day though as I had to tidy up my folders, e-mails and wrap up of course. A chapter closes however this evening my new chapter of planning my holiday to Bali next month opens.... and I return home to the Mount nelson hotel.
